Very easy to make and great tasting meal
Place diced potatoes, carrots, bay leaves and salt n pepper in a medium sized pot, cover with water and boil over medium heat till potatoes are tender. While potato mixture is boiling, saute onions in 4 tablespoons of butter in a sauce pan ( about 3 min.) add 1 tablespoon of butter let it melt then add flour, garlic powder, salt n pepper to taste and stir together till smooth. Pour in half n half, stir on low heat till a thick, smooth sauce is formed.Stir the sauce into the potatoes and water. Add bacon and cheese. Heat on low for 30 minutes. Enjoy.
Serve with a very nice fresh loaf of bread, we like sour dough.
