Easy and very popular. Works great in Crockpot
1. Cut bacon into half inch pieces and cook in 8 quart stockpot, over medium high heat until it begins to crisp.
2. Reduce heat to medium, Add chopped garlic and onion and cook until soft. Be careful not to burn garlic. ( 3-4 minutes)
3. Add remaining ingredients and simmer over medium low heat for 30 minutes.
Note: Bush's Baked Beans come in several varieties. I used a combination of Original, Homestyle and Maple Cured Bacon.
Base recipe is listed as serving 8-10 people but the dish was very popular so scaling the recipe is based on 8 serviings to make sure there is plenty.
