Mix together the flour, nuts, 1/2 cup confectioners sugar and salt in a large bowl; stir in vanilla. Work in the butter until the mixture comes together and forms a ball. 3. Shape the dough into 24 patties with fairly straight sides. Arrange on baking sheet. Bake until very lightly colored, 25 to 30 minutes.
