Whisk together the sugar and egg whites until the egg whites are warm to touch and the sugar is disolved, it takes about two or three minutes. Whisk the mixture for ten minutes or until fluffy and cool. Mix the icing in a mixer on medium speed. Add the softened butter, two tablespoons at a time.
