Suggest a better descriptionBring a large pot of water to boil and blanch the cabbage leaves. Place a layer of cabbage leaves on the bottom of a roaster.
Mix together ground beef, rice, onions and spices. Roll about 1/4 cup of meat mixture neatly in cabbage leaf (cutting out core as necessary). Place rolls on cabbage leaves in roaster, covering the bottom. Place 1/3 slice of bacon (removing excess fat) on each roll. Mix the tomatoes, ketchup and 2 cups of water together. Cover first layer of cabbage rolls with some of the tomato mixture. Repeat another layer of cabbage rolls, bacon then tomato sauce until meat mixture is all used up. Cover with remainder of tomato sauce. Cover roaster and bake at 375 degrees for about 4 hours or until cabbage is very tender.
