No time for homemade spaghetti sauce? This recipe turns canned sauce into an awesome sauce with great taste. My family doesn't like chunky sauce, so you won't find green peppers, onions, or chunky tomatoes in this sauce.
Prepare the spaghetti noodles according to package directions, using very little salt, if any, and a few drops of oil in the water to keep the noodles from clumping.
Brown the ground beef in a large skillet - we use a large electric skillet; drain completely - we even dump the beef into a fine colander and rinse the cooked ground beef off with hot water to remove as much oil as possible from the meat.
Add the spaghetti sauce to the beef; season to taste with salt, pepper, garlic, oregano, and italion seasoning.
Allow to simmer for about half an hour on medium low heat. Stir occasionally.
When the pasta is done, drain and rinse - we use a hot water rinse to keep the noodles hot. Place a serving of pasta on a deep dish pasta plate. Cover with a serving of sauce. Serve with a garden salad and garlic toast.
You cannot mess this up. It is plain, basic, and good. You can add the chunky stuff to it if you prefer, or use one of the chunky canned sauces. If you add fresh chunky vegetables, increase the simmer time to allow the veggies to cook thoroughly.
