These sandwiches are great for casual get-togethers or tailgating.
In large skillet, brown ground beef and garlic-pepper blend until thoroughly cooked. Drain.
In 3 1/2- to 4-quart crockpot, combine cooked ground beef and all remaining ingredients except buns;
(The tomato or BBQ sauce is optional, I added it to the original recipe for folks that like a really saucy, sloppy Joe!) and mix well.
Cover; cook on LOW setting for 6 to 7 hours.
To serve, spoon mixture into sandwich buns.
This recipe yields 8 sandwiches.
Ground turkey or pork instead of the ground beef is a nice change for these sandwiches.
Garlic pepper is a zesty blend of garlic powder and cracked pepper. Look for it with the other spices at your supermarket.
