Suggest a better descriptionIn a large bowl, dissolve yeast in water. Add the sugar, salt, garlic salt, cheese and two cups flour. Beat until smooth. Stir in remaining flour to form a soft dough. Knead about 6 - 8 minutes. Place in greased bowl, turning once to grease top. Cover and let rise until double, about one hour. Punch down dough. Divide dough in half. Shape into loaf. Place on greased baking dish that has been sprinkled with cornmeal. Cover and let rise until double, about 45 minutes. Brush loaves with water. Make 3 diagonal slashes about 1/2 inch deep and top with shredded cheese. Preheat oven to 400 degrees. Fill a pan with hot water and place on bottom rack of oven to create steam. Bake loaves on rack above steam for 20 - 25 minutes.
