Melt butter in a large pan over a medium heat, add onion and mushrooms and cook for 5 minutes
In another pan, cook the chicken in the oil then set aside
Add the garlic to the veg and cook for a further minute
Add the flour to the veg and stir to coat, then slowly add the milk and stock and whisk until there are no lumps remaining
Cook pasta to serve with the meal
Simmer the sauce until it has thickened, about 5 minutes, then season with salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper to taste
Add the chicken to the veg and warm through for 5 minutes
