Cook onions and garlic in oil until the onions are translucent.
Place the remaining ingredients in pot. Cover and cook for 20 minutes.
After 20 minutes remove chicken pieces individually. Shred pieces of chicken. Place shredded pieces of chicken back into pot for an additional 5 - 10 minutes until fully cooked.
