Grandma Elaine's recipe.
Mash the cream cheese, add the powdered sugar gradually until the candy mixture becomes like a stiff pie dough, makes approximately 3 3/4 cups. If you are using more than one color and flavoring; separate the candy mixture into individual bowls. Add the desired flavoring, approximately 1/2 tsp., and add the paste color, a little at a time until you reach the desired shade you want. Roll into small balls. Roll the balls in granulated sugar. Press the ball into the candy mold, unmold at once. If the candy sticks in the candy mold, add more powdered sugar to the candy mixture. Place candies in candy cups. Makes about 60 candies. Candies freeze well.
