Color Me Vegan
In a saute pan over medium-high heat, sauté the corn in the butter for about 5 minutes. Reduce the heat and add the sugar, salt, and pepper.
In a separate bowl or measuring cup, whisk together the milk and cornstarch and stir into the corn mixture. Cook, stirring, over low-medium heat, until the mixture is thickened and the corn is heated through, 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove from the heat and serve hot.
