This is a family favorite recipe passed down from Jerri Casper. It combines traditional southern cooking with the convenience of the modern age. Enjoy!

Boil the chicken in water until thoroughly cooked. Drain and dice into smaller chunks.
Bring 2 liters of broth to a boil. Add diced chicken and spices. Mix well. Let simmer for 10-15 minutes. If you are adding the optional vegetables or onions, add them now as well.
Slice tortillas into strips of approximately 1 inch wide. Slowly add the strips to the simmering broth- about 8 strips at a time. Mix them in, then let simmer for about 5 minutes before adding the next set of strips.
Continue simmering for about 30 minutes until tortillas are large, soft, and the entire mixture is somewhat thickened. Serve hot. Goes great with greens, green beans, cornbread, and stuffing.
