Tear or cut the bacon into pieces and fry until crisp. Save the grease. Peel and core the apple and chop in small pieces. Chop the onion.
Place all ingredients in a pan; cover and simmer for 1 - 1 1/2 hours.
Note: Be sure to keep liquid in the bottom of pan to prevent burning.
Leftovers can be frozen.
