Mix sauce (Soy Sauce, sugar, White wine, vinegar, pineapple juice and ketchup) and place on a low simmer until it become 'bubbly' the mix corn starch with cold water until dissolved, then mix into sauce to thicken. return to simmer until a thick consistence
Roll meat in cornstarch. Deep fry at 420 degrees until crisp.
Stir fry vegetables in a skillet with 2 tablespoons of peanut oil. Do not overcook vegetables. They should remain crispy.
Mix meat into vegetables.
Mix in sauce and heat until bubbly. Then remove from heat and allow to sit for 2 minutes.
From what I was told, this is a recipe that Ms. Magee got while her husband was stationed in The Philippines. Ergo, it is unlike anything found in a Chinese restaurant.
