Scald milk, add shortening, sugar and salt - cool to lukewarm.
Dissolve yeast and 1 tablespoon sugar in lukewarm water. Add to milk mixture 2 cups flour to make a batter. Add yeast and beaten eggs: beat well. Add remaining flour or enough to make a soft dough. Knead lightly and place in greased bowl. Cover and set in warm place. Let rise till double in bulk - 1 1/2 - 2 hours. Punch down and let rise again for a short time. Then shape accordingly. Bake at 375 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes.
