A delicious way to make fresh lima beans.
Shell the Lima Beans and rinse.
Put into a sauce pan, add butter, Mrs. Dash (or other spices if you wish), garlic, and water.
Boil vigorously for 5 minutes.
Then simmer for about 15 or 20 minutes. I tasted the beans a few times. I wanted them al dente not mushy.
I've seen some recipes that added pieces of ham and chopped onions. I think you add almost anything and it will come out very tasty!
I did read somewhere that you need to cook the beans at least 15 minutes before trying them as raw beans are toxic. I only found that in one place but didn't want to take any chances.
