Suggest a better descriptionBeat the eggs in a bowl, and add the milk, water and vanilla. Whisk well to combine.
In another bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/4 cup of granulated sugar, baking powder and salt. Add gradually to the wet ingredients and beat until a smooth batter forms.
Heat the oil in a deep-fryer or a deep pot to 375 F.
Prepare a 1/3 cup measure and a funnel. Cover the bottom of the funnel spout with your finger, and pour 1/3 cup of the batter into the funnel.
Move the funnel over the fryer and release your finger, simultaneously moving the funnel in a circular motion to form a spiral of dough.
Do the same two or three more times, taking care not to overcrowd the pan.
Fry the funnel cakes 2 minutes per side, or until golden brown. Transfer to a plates lined with paper towels.
Microwave the chocolate chips and shortening for about 30 seconds, and stir together until both are melted.
Combine 1/4 cup granulated sugar and cinnamon.
Drizzle 3 funnel cakes with chocolate, followed by a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar and and a dusting of powdered sugar.
Serve warm.
