The best recipe I have ever found for this Southern staple.
Brown butter in saucepan over medium heat until it is golden brown (DON'T BURN). Quickly pour into a bowl to cool. In a separate bowl, add ingredients in order listed. Blend in browned butter.
Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Pour mixture into unbaked pie shell and bake at 425 degrees for 10 minutes; then, lower to 325 degrees for 40-50 minutes. Best served warm with a scoop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
