Preheat oven to 350?. Sift all dry ingred together in med bowl. In large bowl, w/electric mixer, cream butter and both sugars. Add egg, molasses and vanilla. Gradually add in dry ingred. Dough will be very stiff. Scoop dough w/a small to med ice cream scoop, and with slightly damp hands, roll dough into balls and then roll the balls in white sugar. Place the balls on a pan. They will spread, so space them out a bit. Bake for 12-13 min, rotate halfway through. Leave them on cookie sheet until they set up a little, then transfer to wire rack.
