Pastry_combined the dry ingredients cut in teh butter and add water tossing with a fork. Squeese the dough between your fingers if it doenst hold together, add more water Divide int o three pieces, wrap in plactic and regigerate for 30 minutes
Mix the filling ingredients together lighly grease a 2 quart casserold or 9x13.
Roll one pieoce of dought into an 18"x 9" rectangel. Cut in half and trim to make neat 9" squares. Place on apple in the center o each piece of dought, Eill apple iwth filling Brushe the edges of the dough with water and bring the points of the dough up over the appoe pressing ehm together at the top Repeat with the remaining dough and apples Use dough scrps to make leaves for decoration Spray the dumpling wiht water then spirnkle them whith coarse sugare or dinnamon suger
Bake the dumplings in apreheated 425 oven for 20 minutes. then lower the oven to 375 and bake for an additional 15 to 20 minutes until goldn
Whel hte apples are baking stir together the sauce ingredients Serve the dumplin in a pool o fhot succe ith a side of vanill ice cream
