This has been a staple for halibut in my home for years!
To make the halibut, place on broiler pan and season with salt, pepper and melted butter. Broil for 3 minutes on each side or until done, depending on thickness of your fillet.
To make the sauce, cook onions and garlic in butter until soft. Stir the flour into the sour cream. Then add the flour/sour cream mixture to the broth. Add to the onion mixture and cook until bubbly. Stir in sherry, cook 1 minute more. Serve immediately.
