Suggest a better descriptionSTART THIS RECIPE AT LEAST ONE DAY IN ADVANCE. THE TEMPEH SHOULD MARINATE OVERNIGHT.
1. In a bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, blackberry jam, hoisin sauce, olive oil, garlic, onion and crushed red pepper flakes.
2. Pour over the tempeh and marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
3. Pre-heat oven to 450.
4. Arrange the whole brick tempeh and sauce in a cooking pan.
5. Cover with tin foil and cook for 30 minutes at 450.
6. Remove from oven and turn the tempeh upside down in the sauce.
7. Let sit for 10 minutes. The sauce will thicken.
8. Cut the tempeh bricks into slices and serve in the sauce garnished with scallions.
The original recipe saves 4. The multiplier on this recipe is 34 to yield 136 servings. THIS DISH IS VEGETARIAN. IT IS DAIRY-FREE BUT MAY CONTAIN GLUTEN. IT DOES NOT CONTAIN ANY NUTS. It should be vegan if you substitute agave for honey in the marinade.
