With a sharp knife, cut the corn kernels off the cobs into a bowl (also scraping off the milk), add the onion, bell pepper, flour, sugar, salt and pepper and milk and stir till well blended. In a large cast iron skillet, heat the bacon grease over moderate heat, add the corn mixture and fry till part of the liquid has evaporated, about 5 minutes. Add the butter and continue to stir till the butter is melted and the corn in tender about 10 minutes. Serve hot.
