Kettle corn recipe made on the stove the old fashioned way.
Utensils used: One 4.5 quart pan (to pop the corn in) and a slightly bigger bowl (to dump in when done)
Put the pan on the stove and turn heat to Med High. Pour in vegetable oil and wait for it to heat up. When heated, add popcorn kernels, then sprinkle sugar on top and shake a bit. You want the sugar to melt into the oil. Pop popcorn as normal, shaking the pan. When popping slows down, pull off heat, dump into a large bowl, and stir while salting the popcorn to taste. As the sugar cools/dries, the salt will stick to it.
You can use less sugar than the recipe calls for; I've used 2-3 Tbsp and it tastes fine.
Don't let it burn, it smells awful and tastes bad if you do that.
