Golden Brown Biscuits
Source: Dewy MacKenzie character from William W Johnstone'
1. Preheat oven 450 degrees F
2. Grease down flat pan or baking sheet
3. Add baking powder and sugar to the flower. Cut in the softened butter. Stir in the buttermilk. Divide them little babies into balls and place on the baking sheet or flat pan.
4. Melt 2 tablespoons of butter and gently brush onto the top of biscuits ( gives them the golden brown color).
5. Place in oven for 15 minutes, checking often, (burned biscuits can get a chuckwagon cook strung up faster than a horse or wife thief.)
6. Remove from oven when top is golden brown and sides are good and firm.
