A biscuit tradition, passed down for generations.
1. Preheat over to 450 degrees
2. Dissolve yeast and sugar in water. Let stand 10 minutes until it foams up.
3. Sift flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda into bowl.
4. Add yeast/water to flour mixture along with oil and buttermilk. (Dough will be quite moist)
5. Spread generous amount of flour on board. Take portion of dough, put on floured board and knead in enough flour to make soft dough.
6. Roll out dough and cut out biscuits - place in oiled pan and let stand 10-20 minutes to rise.
7. Put in oven and turn up to 475/485 degrees. Bake about 8 minutes on bottom rack. Turn oven to broil, move biscuits higher, and brown on top.
