Suggest a better descriptionIn a large bowl cream butter, confectioners' sugar, vanilla and salt until fluffy. Stir in flour and walnuts until well blended. Cover and chill 30 minutes or until firm enough to handle.
Preheat oven to 300 degrees.
Break off small pieces of dough and on a lightly floured surface roll with hands into finger-thick strips. Cut into 2-inch lengths, taper ends, then shape into crescents.
Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart.
Bake 18 to 20 minutes until firm to the touch. While still warm, roll in granulated sugar.
Place on rack to cool. Store in airtight container.
