Chocolate brownies with a little kick
Preheat oven to 350 Degrees. Cover an 8x8 inch pan with foil. Lightly spray foil with cooking spray.
Stir applesauce, melted butter, and cocoa together. Bate the eggs in one at a time, then stir in the vanilla. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and cayenne. Stir the dry ingredients into the cocoa mixture until just blended. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan. Sprinkle with chocolate chips (or mix chocolate chips into the batter).
Bake for 20 - 30 minutes or until a wooden toothpick comes out clean. Lift out foil and cool brownies and cut into 16 squares.
