This sauce goes well with any meat.
Be sure to apply towards the end of cooking process so the sugars in it don't burn. If using as a marinade, skip the reduction process. Heat to melt sugars and leave it very thin liquid to soak meats in. Discard marinade and drain meats thoroughly before cooking to avoid burning sugars.
1. Make the onion, pineapple, garlic mixture by pureeing 2 large slices fresh onion, 1 tablespoon minced garlic, and 3 rings of pineapple slices in food processor.
2. Combine water, pineapple juice, Teriyaki sauce (Lawry's brand), soy sauce, and brown sugar in a medium saucepan over medium/high heat. Stir occasionally until mixture boils then reduce heat until mixture is just simmering.
3. Let mixture simmer on low heat for 40-50 minutes or until sauce has reduced by about 1/2 and is thickened, stirring frequently. Makes 1 cup of glaze.
