The description of "summer" is so that I remember not to put anything dairy or might otherwise spoil if left in the sunlight. That said, I think a lovely addition of fried goat cheese might really add some complexity and nuance -- so this is kinda a work in progress benchmark for me to refine. Let me know what you think!
Wash and prepare all the fruits (except some Kiwi slices) and place in a large bowl.
Mix additions (except pecans) and pour evenly across fruit.
Toss fruit lightly to mix in flavorings
Lay decorative (and delicious) kiwi slices spread decoratively across the top
Sprinkle with toasted pecans
I am using a bottle of Coconut White Balsamic Vinegar, but any might suffice. I am leaning toward trying the Blackberry-Ginger Aged Balsamic Vinegar next, but I am using what I have on hand.
I also intend to fry up some Crispy Goat Cheese bits (flour/egg dredged and coated with herbs and panko) and add just before serving so they don't get soggy or too cold.
