Suggest a better descriptionSimmer raisins and water in saucepan over low heat until raisins are plump, 20 to 30 minutes. Drain raisin liquid I to measuring cup. Add water to make 1/2 cup. Heat oven to 400 °. Cream shortening, sugar, eggs & vanilla. Stir in raisin liquid. Measure flour by dip level pour method. Blend four, baking powder & soda, salt & spices. Stir in. Add rolled oats & raisins. Drop rounded teaspoonsfuls 2 in apart onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes.
