These were a big hit every holiday season when I was growing up. Unfortunately the ladies don't make them anymore but my mom happened to have the recipe :-P Now I make them as Christmas gifts.
Melt butter, add corn syrup and condensed milk. Mix in icing sugar gradually. Once fully mixed, separate to flavour. Choose amongst several flavours: peppermint, maple, coconut, chocolate (cacao). Add to taste.
Form shapes with batter:
peppermint - long sticks
maple - half moons
coconut - balls
chocolate - squares
Melt 2 - 8ounce unsweetened chocolate with 1/3 cake of parowax.
Dip shapes into chocolate and place on wax paper. Place sheets of chocolate somewhere cold to harden before packaging.
