Granny Emily's recipe
Cream shortening with sugars. Add eggs and vanilla and cream well. Sift together flour with soda, salt and powder. Combine oatmeal, cereal and coconut. Fold mixture. Mix well. Mold with hands into balls the size of walnuts. Place on greased baking sheet, press lightly.
Bake at 350 degrees for 10-12 minutes or until edges are lightly browned.
Do not overcook or they will be super hard!
