Cook all of the ingredients in a saucepan for about 45 minutes, stirring frequently, and adjusting the texture with a masher or immersion blender if you want. Put a spoonful of the jam on the frozen plate and wait one minute. The jam is done when it doesn't slide when the plate is tipped.
Put the jam into three sterilized 1/2 pint jars.
