Suggest a better descriptionPlace chicken bone side up on cutting board. Working from the center out, pound to make cutlets about 1/2 inch think
Sprinkle with salt
Place a slice of ham and a cheese stick on each cutlet.
Tuck in sides of each and roll as you would roll a jelly roll, pressing to seal well
Skewer or tie securely
Coat rolls with 1/2 cup of of flour and brown in the butter in a skillet
Remove chicken to 11 x 7 x 11 1/2 baking dish
In same skillet combine 1/2 cup of water to the gravy base, mushrooms and wine. Heat stirring in any crusted bits from skillet.
Pour mixture over chicken in baking dish.
Cover and bake at 350 for 1 to 1 1/2 hours or until tender
Transfer chicken to serving platter
Blend 2 tablespoons of flour with 1/2 cup of cold water, add to gravy in baking pan. Cook and stir until thickened.
Pour a little gravy over chicken, garnish with toasted sliced almonds.
Pass remaining gravy
