1. Salsa: Combine mango, scallion, jalapeño, lime juice, and cilantro in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
2. Adjust oven rack to the middle position and preheat oven to 400 degrees.
3. Combine brown sugar, chipotle powder, coriander, garlic powder, pepper, and salt in a bowl. Pat the salmon dry with paper towels and sprinkle the spice mixture evenly over the flesh side.
4. Heat the oil in a 12-in oven-safe nonstick skillet over medium-high heat until just smoking. Gently lay the salmon, skin-side up, in the skillet and cook until browned, 2-3 min.
5. Carefully flip the fish over, transfer the skillet to the oven, and cook until the fish flakes apart when gently prodded with a paring knife, 10-15 min.
6. Gently transfer the fish to individual plates and serve with the salsa.
