If you like fresh green beans at Thanksgiving you can't beat this recipe. Low carb and child friendly!
Place a small pot of water over high heat and bring to a boil.
Drop the trimmed green beans into the boiling water and cook for about 5 minutes, until tender but still crisp.
While the green beans are cooking, brown the bacon and nuts in a large saute pan over medium heat.
When the green beans are done, drain them and add them to the saute pan.
Add the pepper strips, garlic powder, pepper, salt to taste, and butter. Saute together for 2 minutes on high and serve.
Notes from Laura:If your going to cook the green beans ahead of time, cool them in ice water the minute they are done to stop them from cooking further. Drain them and refrigerate until your ready to use them. Left-overs freeze well!
