Brown the sausage in a skillet, stirring until crumbly; drain.
Combine the sausage, cooked grits, milk and eggs in a large bowl and mix well.
Stir in the cheese.
Season with salt and pepper.
Spoon into a buttered 9x13 inch glass baking dish.
Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour.
May assembe the night before, chill and bake in the morning. This recipe reheats well lin the microwave too. Cook 3/4 uncooked grits in 3 cups of boiling water to obtain 3 cups cooked grits.
