Suggest a better descriptionMeatballs: Soak bread in milk. Saute onions and garlicin oil till soft. Gently squeeze milk out of bread. Mix all ingredients; shape into twenty 1 1/2-inch balls. Cook over medium heat, turning occasionally, until brown, about 20 minutes. Or cook in ungreased oblong pan, 13x9x2 inches, in 400 degree oven until light brown, 20-25 minutes.
Sauce: Fry onions and garlic. Remove and saute mushrooms. Remove then barely brown meat. Add onions, garlic and mushrooms, tomatoes, paste, season mix, parsley, bay leaf. Add more water, simmer for hours. Last hour add meatballs. You should know how much water, not too thick unless you don't make meatballs. If you don't make meatballs, use 3 pounds of meat.
NOTES : I found this recipe from my mom, handwritten, but some things were vague, like the parmessan cheese. I guess just put however much in you like. Good luck!
