Cook edemame according to package.
In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, water, rice vinegar, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes.
Heat olive oil in a medium saucepan over medium-low heat. Sautee garlic and ginger for about 2 minutes.
Add in soy sauce mixture and raise heat to medium. Let sit, stirring frequently until the sauce is reduced (about 5-7 minutes). Once desired consistency is reached, add in edemame and toss well.
