Scald milk in sauce pan, add butter. Stir and set aside to cool.
In another bowl, beat eggs slightly, add cooled milk and butter mixture. Add sugar and salt and mix in about 3 cups flour. Mix well and add yeast mix. Add remaining flour and knead 10 minutes.
Place mixture in a greased bowl. Cover and put in a warm place. Let rise until double in size.
Punch and divide in half. Divide each half into 3 equal parts, roll in long sections about 2 feet. Pinch 3 together and braid and tuck edge under. Brush lightly with beaten egg.
Bake 35 minutes at 350 degrees. Makes 2 large loves.
