Suggest a better descriptionBoil chicken thighs in water, with onion, garlic, salt and pepper. When thighs are cooked, remove meat from bones and return meat back to broth. Make sure you have about 1/2 of a medium saucepan full of the chicken broth. Bring broth and chicken up to a medium boil. (Optional: add one can cream of chicken and one can cream of mushroom.) Add torn up strips of tortillas to the broth mixture. Cook until dumplings are tender (approximately 15 minutes). Stir often so that the dumplings don't stick to the bottom.
Mixture will thicken as it cools.
