Suggest a better descriptionHeat milk and vanilla till steaming. Whisk egg yolks, sugar, cornstarch and salt. Whisking constantly, slowly add the hot milk mixture. Return to saucepan and heat till whisk leaves trail. Remove from heat and whisk in butter till smooth. Transfer to a bowl and press plastic wrap onto surface. Chill for at least 2 hours or up to 4 days.
