A pan over medium heat, sweat the garlic (not brown), add the roma tomatos (tastes good if you roast them too), and then the rest of the ingredients, one after the other at a good pace. I used mexican crema fresca with some milk to liquify it and that worked out very well too.
the amount of cream REALLY depends on the strength of the marinara. you want an orange tone, garlic-heavy flavor with the romas shining through.. you don't want a stroganoff.
