Suggest a better descriptionSoak Beans overnight and then drain.
Combine beans, broth, garlic and one chopped onion in a large pot. Bring to a boil, reduce to a simmer, cover and cook until the beans are very soft - about 3 hours.
Saute remaining onion. Add green chilies and spiced; then add to beans. Add chicken and simmer for 1 hour (or less) until chicken is cooked. Server hot with toppings. Keeps well in freezer.
Toppings: Monterrey Jack cheese, chopped tomato, olives, scallions, sour cream, tortilla chips.
