Cut shortening into flour until mixture resembles coarse meal. Add buttermilk and combine lightly. Turn out onto floured board or counter. Knead a couple of turns and form into a ball. Roll out and cut with floured cutter. Bake for about 8 mintutes.
Can be dropped onto parchment for drop biscuits or formed by hand into a biscuit shape.
