karenkelly3 ,Love this recipe - use it all the time. I swapped canned tomatoes for tomato sauce because I like the consistency better - not soupy. Making it again for a Halloween party this week 🎃4y
jeanniegwt ,I made this using leftover roast turkey cut into very small pieces and black beans. It was delicious! My. Husband loved it and told me to be sure to save this one.10y
bdizzle ,I made this a few days ago. Absolutely delicious! This is now my go-to chili recipe. I thought that it called for too much chili powder but the flavor is fantastic. I added a little extra Cumin and Cayenne just because and also added in some corn. My boyfriend has asked for the recipe as well and he is a chili snob so if you are debating whether or not to make this recipe---do it!10y
sarahgibson1 ,This chili is so good you don't notice that it's not beef! We like to use a lot more garlic (about 8 cloves) and also add a couple fresh finely diced jalapenos (with seeds) for some extra kick. Also we use pinto instead of kidney beans.10y
hunnibun ,i only put in a third of the chilli powder suggested as i was making this for a 5 year old and a 17 month old. it was still too spicy even for me so after pouring large amounts of yogurt and cream to cool it down, it was still too spicy for the kids and too creamy for me. not for my family and thats a shame as it smelt lovely.10y
susanrtanis ,great flavor. left out the cayenne pepper. serving to kids who don't like spice.11y
gingerspice62 ,I would rate this recipe with 5 stars. It was an excellent recipe. I usually try new recipes when we have company and of course I served this to friends and they, too, said it was very, very tasty. The wife of our friends wanted the recipe and I happily gave it to her. Some things I did to the recipe was:doubled it (noticed when I went back into website, I could change it to however many serving I wanted), sauteed the onion and garlic (used 4 times garlic) and then removed from pan, cooked each package of ground turkey separately, added one 8 oz. can of tomato sauce in the last hour of cooking because I wanted more tomato flavor, plus added about 2 tablespoons more cornmeal to thicken it a bit more. After cooking the turkey, I put everything into my large crock pot and finished cooking it. I added the kidney beans about one hour before serving. I cooked on high for 2 hours and low for another hour. I will make it again and share it with my family. I should probably add that I rarely make a recipe exactly as posted, it's just a cook's, or my thing! I have a habit of adding or deleting things to the recipe, customizing it to my taste. I do believe that if I had followed the recipe exactly as posted that I would still rate it as a five star recipe! Because I found the recipe on BigOven, I will add it to my Favorites.11y
greagan01 ,Easy and flavorful. Added a can of Rotel to the original mix and 1/4 cup red cooking wine during the simmer, plus some red pepper flakes near the end.11y
devitadyer ,I tried this recipe but changed a few things. It turned out well but I used pinto beans instead of kidney beans. I did not use cumin because I didn't have still did fine. I love season so I must say I used a lot of seasonings to get the taste I wanted.11y
stevemur ,Brnandin, I think you misinterpreted "tsp" to mean "tablespoon" and not "teaspoon". "tsp" is short for "teaspoon" but to clarify for others, I'm updating the recipe. Thanks!11y
bwarren1 ,My wife has surgery so I wound up having to cook for the family. I downloaded this app then came across this dish. My first time making Chili and it turned out great. Great recipe "season to taste". Next tie I might slightly season the meat before cooking it.12y
davidboyd ,This was great! Had it on a cold night watching the Giants and it warned us up.. We put it over macaroni and cheese and it was phenomenal :-)12y
stevemur ,Easy comfort food. You can make this as spicy as you'd like with extra jalapenos, cayenne pepper, etc.12y
