For the past couple of days, I have been dreaming of Entenmann's coffee cakes. I don't know, I just miss them. So I thought I would have a look for a "similar recipe". Yippee - I found one and can not wait to try it out. For those of you who can pick up a genuine Entenmann's and have any knack at matching recipes, please give this a go - I really want to give my kids a taste of home...
ohiominnie ,There is no ‘“crumble” to the cinnamon CRUMBLE coffee cake. Mixing the topping with the oil as stated in the recipe made a gooey paste that couldn’t be “spooned” over the batter but rather it had to be dropped in sticky globs. Sunk to the bottom during baking. Such a waste of ingredients and made for a disappointed family on Christmas morning. 😢6y
lily16rose ,coffee cake with no coffee in it?6y
glennrz1 ,Tasted Great, but cake was 2/3's Crumble and only 1 /3 cake. Next time I would reverse the proportions and add the butter, cinnamon and nuts to the smaller bowl.9y
ohanaof5 ,Baked for 10 mns at 350°F before adding crumb mixture as others have suggested. Total bake time 40 mns.10y
jinkxthewolf ,I loved this cake! I didn't bake it quite long enough in the beginning, it was extremely gooey and I should've done it longer before putting on the topping, but it all worked out.10y
ttoolen ,I took the advice of others and cooked the bottom layer for 10 min and then added the crumb topping. I also only need 1 stick of butter for the crumb and added about 3 tbl of brown sugar. I cooked it at a temp of 350 and turned out great. You really need to taste as you go with the topping because you may need more or less butter based on altitude and humidity. The more butter you add, the more you will need to compensate with flour and sugar. So if you need to add, add it at a ratio 2:1 flour/sugar.10y
rhondagod ,We liked this a lot I like a really golden edge so the only thing I changed was cooking time. Also snuck in whole wheat flour kids didn't notice and the cake was nice and fluffy :)10y
sonyan ,This is best served warm of course. It is a bit heavy to my liking, so if you like rich foods this is it. Overall it is a good recipe but not for my family10y
