Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Sift together in a bowl the flour, sugar, baking powder and salt. Cut in the butter until crumbly. Add the egg. Mix with fork and then press half the dough into a 13 x 9" baking pan. Spoon the cherry pie filling over the dough, then top with the rest of the crumbs. Bake for 30 minutes.
